Magazines Grand Prix
Magazines Canada turned to SCL to show off and collect submissions for its new bilingual awards program honouring the best work in the magazine journalism across the country.
Magazines Canada launched the Grand Prix, a new awards ceremony intended to honour the best work in the magazine industry across the country. The organization needed a way to encourage, collect, judge and showcase submissions; sell tickets to the gala; and then tout the winning entrants and event highlights in post-gala coverage.
SCL created a fully bilingual website for the awards that had multiple phases, allowing Magazines Canada to focus on different priorities at different times—collecting submissions from entrants one week, selling tickets another—as well as customized award-submissions and ticketing platforms.
The awards drew 517 paid entries, and a paying audience of 350 Canadian magazine creators, editors and publishers in a gala event at Toronto’s Four Seasons Hotel.
